So and Such

 

“So ve such” niteledikleri kelimelere “çok” anlamı verir. “So” dan sonra sıfat ve zarf; “such” tan sonra sadece sıfat tamlaması (sıfat + isim) gelir.

 

·          Your house is so beautiful[A1]  (sıfat)

·          I'm waiting him so patiently[A2]   (zarf)

 

·          That's such a boring film[A3]   (tekil isim)

·          Oh Suna, you're such an idiot[A4] 

 

·          They are such clever students[A5]  (çoğul isim)

·          She makes such wonderful cakes[A6] .

 

Duruma gore şaşırma ifadesi olarak da kullanılabilirler.

 

·          Fenerbahçe has won the match. I didn’t expect them to play so well[A7] .

 

·          Why did you wait  for him such a long time[A8] 

 

“Such” kelimesinden sonra doğrudan isim kullanılabilir. Anlamı “şöyle, böyle, öyle”dir.

“Many” ve “Few” sayılabilir isimlerle kullanılır.” Little” ve “much” ise sayılamayanlarla kullanılır.
